Online Consignment Pre-Assessment

How does it work?

1. Completion of the online form
2. Submission of a response indicating acceptance or rejection
3. If accepted, a proposal will be sent by email according to our conditions and an in-person evaluation will be scheduled
4. In-person evaluation (showroom in Lisbon)
5. If accepted: consignment with contract signing and payment of a consignment service fee (€95/year). The dress will be promoted online, stored and maintained in our space, and tried on in our showroom.
6. Item not accepted: repair/cleaning proposal or rejected
7. If sold: payment of your 50% commission via bank transfer

* If you live outside of Lisbon, we'll schedule an online conversation first, and then you can send the items via CTT Expresso or another delivery service.

Response time:

Unfortunately, we cannot accept all dresses. Due to high demand, your request will be placed on a waiting list. Our selection is carefully chosen to suit Brida Stories' curation, the stock available at any given time, our limited space, and the needs of brides. The response time after submission may vary between 2 weeks and 6 months depending on the season and requirements; however, we respond to all submissions.

Arrangements and Cleaning:

For a fair and accurate assessment of your item, as well as for reasons of cleanliness and hygiene, and to expedite sales, items must be delivered in good condition and professionally cleaned. That is, items must be ready for delivery when they arrive at the showroom.

Please be honest in your assessment, as we dedicate time from our day to evaluating and receiving items. Understand that this is a small business and that if your item has any problems during the in-person assessment, it will be rejected, resulting in wasted time for both parties.

CONDITIONS

By submitting the form, you agree to our Terms and Curation System.

Mini Home Assessment Checklist

Is your dress in good condition?

Evaluate your dress at home first:
  • Has it been stored for a long time?
  • Did it come back from the dry cleaner but you never checked it?
  • Now is the time to take it out of the garment bag and check it!!! 👀
Before submitting your items, make sure your dress meets our criteria by reviewing the different parts of the item, especially: front area, sleeves, underarms, back, shoulders, waist, hems. A second cleaning may be necessary.

Items must be ready to hand over when they arrive at the showroom.
We can carry out some alterations in our atelier, subject to a quote, but only depending on the seamstress’s availability and other work. Therefore, the ideal situation is always to arrive with the dress already ready and altered so it can be displayed immediately and be ready to try on. Otherwise, the sales process is delayed.
If in doubt, submit the dress and we will review solutions together before the in-person evaluation, so that any issues can be resolved beforehand.

Attention
Be honest in your assessment, as we set aside time in our day to receive and evaluate items. Please understand that this is a small business, and if the dress presents issues during the in-person evaluation, it will be rejected, which results in lost time for everyone involved.

We accept items with defects for upcycling under the conditions of Category U; however, you will not receive monetary compensation.
We do not accept items with odors. If you answered yes and wish to submit, please have your dress professionally cleaned before submitting it. We do not accept items with odors in any category.
